Teams & Roles
Collaborate with others by creating teams and managing permissions.
Understanding Teams
In StoryBook, all projects and assets belong to a Team (also called a Studio). This allows you to collaborate with others without sharing your personal login credentials.
Creating a Team
- Click the Team Selector in the sidebar (top-left).
- Click Create Team.
- Enter a name for your Studio (e.g., "DreamWorks Beta").
- Click Create.
You can switch between teams using the same selector.
Member Roles
When inviting members to your team, you can assign them specific roles:
| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access. Can manage billing, delete the team, and manage all members. |
| Admin | Can manage projects, assets, and invite/remove members. Cannot manage billing or delete the team. |
| Member | Can view and edit projects and assets. Cannot manage team settings or invite others. |
Managing Members
Inviting Members
- Go to Settings → Members.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter their email address and select a Role.
- Click Send Invitation.
The user will receive an email to join your team. If they don't have an account, they will be prompted to create one.
Removing Members
- Go to Settings → Members.
- Find the user in the list.
- Click the Context Menu (...) and select Remove.
